We started off the year 2013 with a new theme: I’M A BELIEVER. God gave us this particular theme because I believe we are entering a new season of faith @Shiloh Church. Faith is leaning over the edge of the natural into the supernatural. It is touching heaven and changing earth. It is the dynamic faith prayer that Jesus taught us to pray: LET YOUR KINGDOM COME. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE. IN EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. I’m talking about a type of faith that believes that the kingdom of heaven is actively occupying the earth in avenues and forums we could never comprehend before.
I believe God is giving us an as-it-is-in-heaven type faith. As Charles Spurgeon once said,“A little faith will bring your soul to heaven; a great faith will bring heaven to your soul.” This is the year for a GREAT FAITH.This the year of heaven coming to your soul. Enough hell. Bring on heaven. It is a year for you to boldly say: I’M A BELIEVER. I believe God. I believe that God is not only able, but He is also willing to move on our behalf. And I must say as the Senior Pastor of this great house called Shiloh Church that our house will be known as a house of faith. Faith is not only in the the air in Shiloh; it is also in the soil. It is not only in the atmosphere; it is also in the ground. The ground is important. It is the place where we dwell. It is the place where we do ministry. It is the place heaven is coming to.The ground is the place where growth takes place. For example: the onion. The onion grows in the ground. Have you ever noticed that whenever you cut an onion your eye’s begin to water? Scientist have proven what makes your eye’s water is not the onion. The ingredients of an onion do not make your eye’s water, but the culprit is the sulfur that is in the composition of the soil. As the onion grows in the ground the toxicity of sulfur enters the onion and causes it to be contaminated with the very substance that makes your eye’s water. What’s the principle here? You become what is in soil you are grown in. Let me prophesy. As heaven comes to the earth the make-up of the soil is about to change. God is going to cleanse the soil. What was toxic and lethal in the ground of your life (the eye watering stuff) is being taken out. What God gave you (the onion) is not the issue, it’s the what the enemy has tried to put in the ground to contaminate the onion. But I declare that heaven is coming to change the ground, which will in turn change the onion (your life) and through it all it will change you. Do you believe it? I’M A BELIEVER!
We started off the month of January with a 4-part preaching series called I BELIEVE IN GOD.
On the 1st Sunday I preached a sermon called Just One Touch from Luke 8. In this text we find two stories occurring @the same time. We have a 12 year old daughter who is dying and a woman who was suffering with an issue of blood for 12 years. 12 years. It is amazing how Jesus arrives at the right place at the right time. God is a God of perfect timing. He is never early. He is never late. He is always right on time. He is an On-Time God. And for these two it was about a touch. One reached out and touched him. In the other case Jesus reached out and touched her. Both touched. It just takes one touch to make you whole. Even now...
On the 2nd Sunday we delved into the concept of It Is Worth The Wait. In that time we discovered that Abraham and Sarah were called righteous because they had faith. Steadfast faith open up doors of destiny. Even in barrenness. Even in drought. Even in the time of waiting...you learn something...it’s worth the wait. These 2 faith-fighters had to wait and wait and wait, but what gave them the ability to wait was the fact that they were given a promise. God is a Promise Keeping God. When He speaks a word He is faithful to see it through; even if it means that you wait for it. There is revelation in the waiting: It’s not about the destination, but the journey. Every step becomes a faith step. And when it comes...and it will come...you will rejoice!
On the 3rd Sunday Grandpa Moses came to town. He always comes with a Word in due season for Shiloh. And this was no exception. He shared on letting your light shine. I believe that this is a word for this year. Isaiah 60:1declares – “Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you— rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!” Hear this: the circumstances that have KEPT YOU no longer have the ability to hold you, hinder you or cause you to stay in the condition you were in.You are being given the ability & strength to ARISE. I speak that over you now ARISE. And SHINE. Shine with the light of Jesus in your life.
On the 4th Sunday Pastor Javier, in his trademark encouraging style preached a powerful word that YOU ARE HIS MASTERPIECE. Every part of your life is all in God’s plan for your life. You might wonder sometimes what God is doing but be edified in this He is in the middle of all. He is working a work in your life that has never been worked so that you will work His works in this day.You are beautiful. You are perfect. You are exactly who God created you to be in Christ Jesus. So it is time to celebrate who you are in Him.
Now in February we have a new preaching series I BELIEVE IN GOD’S PROMISES. His promises transcend generations. In other words they have the divine ability to carry on and on and on into the future. And the beautiful thing is this: in each generation God renews His promises, so that each one will become a partaker of them and have the opportunity to walk the same faith walk of previous generations. Get ready because this is a month of prophetic declaration, divine inspiration and new revelation.
